The daughter of a Punjab Police officer, who was shot dead by a ruling Shiromani Akali Dal leader in full public view Wednesday, said she would kill the accused if he is brought in front of her.

“Bring him before me. I will shoot and kill him like he did to my helpless father. No one came to help us as he (the accused) attacked us,” the daughter of slain Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravinder Pal Singh said here Thursday.

ASI Ravinder Pal Singh was allegedly shot dead by Ranjit Singh Rana, a general secretary of the Amritsar district Akali Dal, and his accomplices in Chheharta area on outskirts of the city after he objected to his daughter being subjected their harassment Wednesday. Rana had been stalking the ASI’s daughter for the last few days.

Sobbing continuously, the victim said that no one from the public came to help her and her father as Rana continued to shoot and assault them.

A Punjab Police assistant sub-inspector Ravinderpal Singh, was murdered in full public by Akali leader Ranjit Singh Rana near Chheharta police station on the GT Road, who with some men teasing his daughter.

Rana had been teasing  Ravinderpal Singh’s daughter for some time and she had informed her father about it. Today,when she saw Rana, accompanied by some of his friends, called up her father.

Ravinderpal Singh, who was in uniform, reached the scene and a heated argument took place. Following an argument, Rana allegedly pulled out his revolver and opened fire.

The first match was played between America and Argentina. America won the match by a margin of 77-14 points. At the end of first half America teams was leading with 39-3 points. Italy’s stopper Mr. Harish Kumar, Mr. Tenwant Singh, Mr. Baljit Bhau, Mr. Balraj Baji Jand clinched 5, 5, 5 and 3 points respectively.

A Delhi court Sunday extended for three more days the police custody of Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, booked for the murder of Hardeep Singh, brother of slain liquor baron Ponty Chadha.

Namdhari, a witness to the Nov 17 shootout at a farmhouse in south Delhi in which both the brothers were killed, has been booked under Indian Penal Code’s Section 302 (murder) for Hardeep’s killing.

Magistrate Sunil Beniwal extended Namdhari’s police custody till Dec 5 after police sought it to recover the vehicles used on the day of the incident and to trace other accused.

Namdhari was sacked as chairman of the Uttarakhand Minorities Commission after the Chadha brothers’ killings. He was arrested from his farmhouse in Uttarakhand Nov 23.

Metropolitan Magistrate Sandeep Garg extended Namdhari’s police custody for three days against the seven days police had sought.

Namdhari was sacked as chairman of the Uttarakhand Minorities Commission after the shootout and the Chadha brothers’ killings in a Delhi farmhouse, and was arrested from his farmhouse in Uttarakhand Nov 23.
